Still No Release Date for Silent Hill 2 Remake After State of Play
Silent Hill 2 came out on PlayStation 2 back in 2001. Team Silent’s survival-horror game follows James Sunderland’s journey to meet his supposedly dead wife in the titular Silent Hill, where his living nightmare begins. Silent Hill 2 was a great sequel due to its plot, character development, and atmosphere. It’s also often considered the best installment of the franchise.
Now, fans experience Sundeland’s terrifying encounter again with the Silent Hill 2 Remake. We first heard about it in October 2022 and have been patiently waiting for a release date since then. It seems we’ll have to wait a bit longer for it.
Still No Release Date for Silent Hill 2 Remake After State of Play
Players anticipated a launch date for the Silent Hill 2 Remake during the State of Play and were disappointed when it wasn’t announced. We only know that the game is “in development for PlayStation 5.”
However, there was a sneak peek of the game’s combat. The revamped version will get a revised combat system, enhanced graphics, and an over-the-shoulder perspective that’s similar to the Resident Evil remakes. The story itself won’t change.
If more modifications are coming to the Silent Hill 2 Remake, they’re unclear from the trailer.
The Bloober Team will be making the Silent Hill 2 Remake. The independent developers are known for horror titles like Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, The Medium, Observer, and more. The creators even drew inspiration from Silent Hill 2 in their games.
The Silent Hill 2 Remake will also be available via Steam.
