Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Sales
Rocksteady Studios has seen better days. According to IGN, Warner Bros. Discovery’s CFO, Gunnar Wiedenfels, said the Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League (KTJL) sales haven’t been great. Here’s what we know about the title’s revenue so far.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Sales
These were Wiedenfels’ exact words during an earnings conference call:
“This year, Suicide Squad, one of our key video game releases in 2024, has fallen short of our expectations since its release earlier in the quarter, setting our games business up for a tough year-over-year comp in Q1.”
There are no figures out as of writing, so we don’t know exactly how low the sales are. We know that KTJL’s performance pales in comparison to Hogwarts Legacy’s release. The fantasy RPG easily became the best-selling game of 2023 when it launched in the first quarter of the year.
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Ratings
Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League’s Steam player count dropped quickly upon release. Its player count peaked at 13,500 when it launched but has continuously plummeted since February 2.
While the game has a “mostly positive” rating on Steam, reviews on Metacritic are drastically different. KTJL has earned a Metascore 60 and a user score of 3.7. Reviewers are disappointed that it didn’t live up to the greatness of the Arkham Trilogy. They also point at KTJL’s rinse-and-repeat missions, superhero character writing, connection issues, and bugs for the negative feedback.
OpenCritic reviews of Kill the Justice League are similar. The Top Critic average is 60, and only 18% recommend the game. Many of them blame the title’s repetitive gameplay and live-service system for its low ratings.
