The Lords of the Fallen Release Date: When is it?
After initially being announced in 2014, The Lords of the Fallen — formerly Lords of the Fallen 2 — was re-revealed in full at Gamescom 2022.
For those wondering when the long-awaited sequel will finally drop, here's the latest information on the release date of The Lords of the Fallen.
The Lords of the Fallen Release Date: When is it?
The Lords of the Fallen is set to release worldwide for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam) sometime in 2023.
The announcement was made during Gamescom’s "Opening Night Live" show on Aug. 23, complete with a three-minute cinematic trailer narrated by Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn.
Spearheaded by the efforts of developer HEXWORKS and publisher CI Games, The Lords of the Fallen is said to be a reboot of the third-person action RPG, Lords of the Fallen (2014).
Though a full gameplay reveal for the game is said to be coming later on in 2022, The Lords of the Fallen is described as an epic, dark fantasy action RPG that is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and set more than 1,000 years after the events of the first game.
"The Lords of the Fallen is the spiritual successor fans of the original title have always wanted," HEXWORKS creative director Cezar Virtosu said. "The game is significantly larger, with a vast, interconnected dual world split between the realms of the living and dead, that players can explore alone or with friends. It's darker and more challenging, with faster soulslike combat, stronger thematic, richer narrative, deeper RPG systems and more immersive storytelling."
