By Zach Snoddy
Valorant Patch 2.0 went live on Tuesday and made several changes to the game's agent roster. While strong characters got nerfs, some characters received much-needed buffs that are sure to shake up the game's meta. A new Duelist named Yoru has entered the fold, and early reactions suggest that he is looking like a handful.
Valorant Episode 2 Act 1 Agent Tier List
S Tier
Phoenix - the most versatile and consistent Duelist can dictate the pace of a match with his array of fire-based abilities
Brimstone - the recipient of the most generous buffs in Patch 2.0, Brimstone looks set to become the premier Controller in the new meta
Jett - her fast and unique movement allow players to get better positioning and angles on their opponents while darting across the map
Yoru - the new addition to Season 2, Yoru's cloaking abilities have the potential to make him the premier flanker in the game, though time will tell how he is utilized by pro players
A Tier
Cypher - received some nerfs that have kept him strong, but has allowed the other Sentinels to catch up to him
Omen - Contrary to Brimstone, Omen received some nerfs to his smoke abilities in Patch 2.0 that were meant to bring balance to the character and the overall agent roster
Skye - Skye is the only Initiator who can control the location of her flashes, making her dangerous in the right hands
Breach - Steadily buffed throughout Season 1, Breach seems to be fully fleshed out as a solid Initiator
B Tier
Sova - his difficulty curb is much higher than other characters, but a well-trained Sova can dominate a match
Sage - has seen a steady diet of nerfs after being scapegoated as the reason for slow and defensive play in the meta
Raze - has been steadily nerfed throughout the game, but now finds her place in the meta in jeopardy due to the arrival of Yoru
Reyna - though she has a complete tool kit, the other Duelists seem to do everything better than her, especially with the arrival of Yoru
C Tier
Killjoy - her gameplay strengths rely on her staying alive as long as possible, which limits risk-taking and offensive play
Viper - untouched in Patch 2.0 despite needing some buffs, her limited toolkit and high difficulty curb make her a less than optimal choice
