Valorant Patch 3.00 Agent Tier List
By Samuel Purdy
Valorant's Patch 3.00 Agent tier list has major changes, with Episode 3 bringing about plenty of tweaks to the game's playable roster. With the introduction of a new Agent, and various price increases and decreases to abilities and weapons, Valorant received quite a facelift. For players eager to rise to the top, and figure out which Agent suits them best, our tier list has fans covered. It should be stated that KAY/O, the new Agent introduced in Episode 3, will not be featured in this tier list. How he interacts and plays with other Agents has yet to be seen, so we're leaving him out for the Patch 3.00 tier list.
Valorant Patch 3.00 Agent Tier List
S Tier - Cypher, Killjoy, Omen
This is certainly an unexpected top tier. Not to say that these three aren't worthy, but the stalwart Jett, Sova, Raze, and Sage have been dropped down a notch. Cypher received a buff this update, decreasing the number of points required to use his ultimate. Omen's Paranoia (Q) got a cost decrease, and his other abilities were minimally affected. Killjoy's bots have a longer cooldown when recalled, but other than that, she's the same lockdown force she was in Episode 2.
A Tier - Reyna, Viper, Jett, Sova, Raze, Sage, Skye
A Tier is certainly more crowded with Patch 3.00, seeing both demotions and promotions. Jett, Sova, Raze, and Sage all received prominent price increases to their abilities, knocking them down from S Tier. Skye, on the other hand, got some noticeable quality-of-life changes to her utility, which is enough to bring her up from B Tier. Reyna received a minor price increase to her Leer (C), and Viper's Snakebite (C) was nerfed, but the rest of her kit was untouched. These changes are minor enough that they're still great A Tier options.
B Tier - Brimstone, Phoenix, Astra
Still solid at B Tier. Brimstone and Phoenix both received minor price increases, to their Incendiary (Q) and Curveball (Q) respectively. The big change is the severe demotion of Astra, who's the subject of notable game balancing. She's getting cooldowns on her Nova Pulse (Q) and Gravity Well (C), and her Stars/Astral Form (X) won't be as powerful as they were in Episode 2.
C Tier - Breach, Yoru
Alas. It makes sense that Yoru is here, with a price increase to his Blindside (Q) and increased cooldown for his Gatecrash (E), and no boosts to his utility. Patch 3.0, however, destroyed Breach, hitting the bionic Swede the hardest among all Agents. His Flashpoint (Q) is losing its third charge, which is a major hit for the Initiator. His other abilities are being changed to, "provide more reliable outputs for Breach and his allies." His Aftershock (C) is also being entirely changed, switched to three short bursts. These changes might be beneficial in the future, but right now, it looks like Breach won't be the best option going forward.
