The base price for Valorant Points don't get you any bonus Points. The more Points you buy, the more bonus Points you get to entice larger purchases.
The only things you need to buy to actually play the game are agent contracts, so everything else is just cosmetic. Inevitably, you'll end up with more points than you actually need. If you get 1,000 VP, you can unlock five other agents exactly.
You could also grab the Battle Pass, which also costs exactly 1,000 VP. The Battle Pass won't give you any VP back like in other games, but you do get a variety of exclusive cosmetics and Radianite Points which you can spend on other cosmetics.
