The Valorant tutorial begins with Brimstone introducing himself to the player and teaching basic movement — which is completed using the WASD keys. Next players learn to jump with the spacebar and crouch with the Control key.

Walking over the pistol in front of them will have players pick up the weapon, which they can then use to shoot the bot further ahead with left mouse button. The game instructs players to stand still while shooting or risk a major drop in accuracy.

After killing the floating bot, players must walk around the corner and kill the other two bots standing there to receive a rifle. They use that to shoot a flying drone down. They can use the right mouse button to aim down their gun's sights. After another brief skirmish, players learn to walk silently using the Shift key.

Next Valorant introduces the armory, accessed with the B key, which allows players to buy weapons and abilities. Players can take as long as they like experimenting at this stage of the tutorial before they head in to an aim test.

Completing the aim test leads to an explanation of Agents' abilities, followed by a Spike planting tutorial and some defending. Once that's finished, players have completed the tutorial.

Players can re-do the tutorial by heading into the practice range whenever they care to.
