Verdansk Will Return to ‘Certain Platforms’ Says Activision
By Jack O'Dwyer
Activision has confirmed Verdansk will return to certain platforms in Call of Duty (CoD): Warzone.
During a now-deleted livestream with LegionFarm, Alex Summers, a live operations manager for Activision, revealed that the original Verdansk map will be returning to Warzone before the end of 2023. While Summers neglected to give a concrete time frame, that bit of information was more than enough to spark the interest of the community — one of whom clipped the following quote and posted it to Reddit on April 17.
“Verdansk will be coming back,” Summers said, “But it will be coming back sometime next year. I don’t want to give too much away, but that map will be coming back on certain platforms sometime next year.”

However, players are not yet convinced. Several in the comments took Summers’ words to mean it will be returning to mobile and/or iOS platforms, rather than PC or console. Some have linked it to the game’s mobile port currently confirmed to be in development.
“Probably just means it’s coming to mobile, won’t stop me from getting my hopes up however,” wrote indietrxsh.
Noob_music_producer appeared ready to make the jump to mobile if that’s the case, writing, “ima become a full time mobile gamer if they do add the old verdansk stuff and crispy gunplay to mobile.”
As always, there are some players who would rather the developers bring the old back immediately to replace the new. After all, Verdansk has clearly carved out a place in CoD fans’ hearts.
“Personally I think they should scrap Caldera and just bring back Verdansk now,” wrote Wild_NK_cell.
Regardless, DBLTAP cannot confirm a date, time, or platform for the map’s return at the time of writing.
