Warzone SMG Tier List July 2020: Best CQC Weapon to Use
By Chaz Frazer
Warzone SMG Tier List for July 2020 is full of changes, and strong contenders for taking the top spot. With the nerf to the MP5 (alongside some head-scratching buffs), has anything risen to take its spot?
For the purpose of this tier list, we’ll focus on all the weapons that you can bring into the game via loadout, kitted out to specifications to take advantage of the weapon's strengths as much as possible.
Warzone Submachine Gun Tier List - July 2020
S Tier
MP5
The ranges for the MP5's 9mm rounds were nerfed, and this was the only change to this version of the MP5. All other nerfs are to the 10mm rounds - which players do not gravitate towards within the meta of the game. The collapsable stock was nerfed significantly, so stay away at all costs.
The 10mm rounds were also buffed in long range damage doing more damage to the lower torso and limbs. The recoil was stated to have been nerfed, but YouTuber and analyst The Xclusive Ace has pointed out that through his testing, the recoil seems to have been more buffed than anything else. Lesson here is to take patch notes with a grain of salt unless significant testing has been done.
AUG
The base AUG is not so impressive until you kit the weapon out with the 5.56 conversion rounds and take your new SMG/AR hybrid into Warzone. Sporting a DPS that rivals even Assault Rifles, the weapon is great for close and mid-range engagements and is very powerful for end-game situations in a small or closing circle when you need something more versatile. Equip the 50 round drum for the ability to engage multiple enemies without needing to reload.
Fennec
The newcomer to Season 4 sports the highest RPM out of any weapon in the game at 1111 rounds per minute, and can absolutely shred armor and health with a base TTK of just under 185 milliseconds. The base ammo magazine is pathetic at 25 rounds for something that fires this fast, so be sure to level it up in Shipment or Shoot House first before kitting it out for Warzone.
Stick to CQC only, and be amazed at how easy it is to control the recoil for something that fires this fast. You'll have fun with this one.
A Tier
MP7
The MP7 is a laser beam SMG that excels at mid-to-long range and has little to no recoil at all. Extremely easy to control, you can kit this weapon out to only net positives while mitigating all weaknesses. Use a TAC laser for stability and ADS speed, and stay away from the no stock attachment as it was nerfed across the board for all weapons.
B Tier
Striker 45
The Striker 45 with the hollow point rounds ammo conversion kit is an excellent choice, giving you a quick two-round burst with a small burst delay. Dealing great damage with amazing damage ranges, the weapon is specialized to a mobile playstyle that deals tons of damage. The magazine is only 12 for the hollow point rounds, and does not do well at all versus multiple enemies, but is deadly if you are accurate.
PP19 Bizon
The PP19 Bizon is a weapon with large ammo capacity and a slower fire rate to help with control and accuracy. In Season 4, the weapon spawns on the ground in Warzone and in loot boxes via blueprints, and at one point or another, you have used the SMG at the beginning of a match.
P90
The P90 doesn't sport the most impressive stats, but it could be worse. Previously part of the ground and loot box RNG in Season 3 of Warzone, the P90 is a solid choice should you be particularly partial to it.
C Tier
Uzi
The Uzi is not exciting and has nothing of note at all. It does its job but you would be better suited to use something more versatile if taking an SMG into Warzone.
