Wondering what happened to your prestige points in League of Legends?

With the Mythic Content Overhaul, Riot Games announced that Gemstones and Prestige Points are combining into a single new currency that never expires: Mythic Essence. As the new Mythic shop replaced the Gemstone Shop, new-game content are now offered. This means that Mythic Essence can be used to obtain Mythic seasonal rewards, loot boxes, currencies, and thematic skins.

With that in mind, here's what happened to your prestige points.

What Happened to My Prestige Points in League of Legends

With the Mythic Content Overhaul, any of your remaining Prestige Points have expired on March 24. This was when the Final Prestige Shop offered Prestige skins and other exclusive content that was released a few years ago. Riot reiterated a few times that this would happen once the Overhaul went live with Patch 12.6.

While your prestige points may be gone, any gemstones in your inventory were automatically converted to Mythic Essence at a 1-to-10 ratio. This may seem like a bummer at first, but Riot has revealed that the Mythic Essence drop rates from Masterwork Chests will temporarily increase to offset the removal of Prestige Points from bundles.
