Massive online games like Fortnite are always in search of something to keep things fresh. Be it a cycle of weapons, changes to POIs, or weekly and daily challenges to complete. This week, players will have come across a task that asks them to damage an opponent within 10 seconds of mantling. But, this simple challenge as left a lot of players feeling stumped.
Just what exactly is mantling? And how do you do it? Well, here's what you need to know.
What is 'Mantling' in Fortnite and How to Do It.
Mantling hasn't always been something that Fortnite players could do. In fact, it appeared as a feature after Epic Games removed building at the start of the season. Players were given some new parkour abilities to help them get around the island without the help of building.
Even though building is back in Fortnite, mantling is still around too. What it means is that players will need to grab onto a ledge of a building or structure and pulls themselves up. It's as simple as that - you've probably encountered it as a mechanic in number of RPGs over the years.
How to Mantle in Fortnite
Now that you know what mantling is, you might be wondering how to do it. Simply jump towards a ledge while keeping the jump button held down. Your character should then grab onto the ledge and pull themselves up.
It might be a bit tricky to do at first, especially within the challenge's 10-second window. Try to sprint before jumping in order to help yourself gain some better distance, and try not to aim for a ledge that's too high.
To complete the weekly challenge, damage an opponent in any way you know how and then sprint towards a ledge and mantle within 10 seconds. Doing so will net you a tidy sum of XP.
