Whether it's raiding, PvP, or helping out in a dungeon, players want to know what is the best healing class in WoW: Shadowlands.

Any MMO player will tell you that, in a game like World of Warcraft (WoW), it's important to stay on top of class changes. Tweaks are made in an attempt to rebalance classes with nearly every patch uploaded to Azeroth. So, it only follows that the best class for every role is always subject to change.

Best Healing Class in WoW: Shadowlands

We want to state that the best healing class may change according to playstyle and experience per individual. Rolling a Shaman simply because it's up this patch won't guarantee anyone a primary spot in their guild next Tuesday night. Similarly, if players find themselves more comfortable with a Druid, we encourage them to stick to what they know they can perform well with.

Additionally, the best class may change depending on the task at hand. Some may not perform as well in Mythic+ content as they did in a normal dungeon.

Currently, as of Patch 9.0.5, the Discipline Priest is the best healing class and specialization (spec) in Shadowlands. Regardless of content, it is typically ranked within the top five classes and is a decent all-around choice for teams looking to start a group.

Discipline Priests are popular for their ability to put out decent DPS without sacrificing their healing capacity. Their best abilities lie in the form of Power Words—mainly Fortitude and Barrier. A good Discipline Priest can heal their way through high damage battles and should be setting up for encounters beforehand.

However, while extraordinarily versatile, they tend to struggle with sustaining their party if the fight goes too long. These characters cater their strategy around cooldowns so they tend to pick and choose exact moments to push. Those decisions can make or break a battle.

Other top picks include the Restoration Shaman for its notable Spirit Totem Link and effective toolkit. Chain Heal and Healing Rain allow for massive heals so long as the party stays together. Holy Paladin is also a popular situational choice, as is the Restoration Druid for its reliability. Both have been cornerstones of the WoW Healing scene for quite some time.
