Why You Should Pick Quaxly in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
By Jack O'Dwyer
The Pokemon Company and Game Freak, the two primary studios behind most of the major franchise installations took this year’s Pokemon Day broadcast as the perfect opportunity to announce the next main series releases: Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet.
They also went ahead and released the starter trio or Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.
Here are our top three reasons why you should pick Quaxly in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Why You Should Pick Quaxly
1. You have some seriously strong feelings about the Disney corporation.
In other words: you’re either completely devoted to or entirely detest everything Disney.
We’re just going to come out and say it: Quaxly looks a lot like Donald Duck—to the point that this species could even pass as an early concept of the character. This is one of its main drawing points which, truthfully could go either way.
Fighting alongside or commanding a Disney character to engage in combat is one heck of a perk.
2. You’re a hard worker that likes to keep things simple.
Whether it’s a project for work or a new hobby you want to try out, when you set your mind to something, everything else disappears. You’ve been called “task-oriented.” Friends may say that they can always rely on you to accomplish goals in a neat and timely manner—almost like magic!
You may be inclined to keep your immediate space clean and organized. Whether this is your work desk, desktop monitor, or other important location, you tend to take good care of the places you spend the most time.
3. It’s exactly what you expected when you heard the words “Duck Pokemon Starter” for the first time.
You didn’t really vibe with Psyduck, Golduck, Ducklett, or Cramorant, but Quaxly is definitely where it’s at.
It’s not that you’d consider yourself a connoisseur of all things duck. You just know what you want and no other similar Pokemon have fit the bill, so to speak, and you aren’t afraid to make that known. Now, however, you’ve got Quaxly, and your eternal quest for the perfect water-type Duck has been completed.
At least until the evolutions come out.
You may also own some duck memorabilia—again, not after-school cartoon dad levels of adoration, but water fowl have always had a special place in your heart.
