As fall approaches, the Call of Duty community can finally begin the countdown to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release. But before the next Call of Duty title drops, Warzone 2 will undergo a few more changes, including the possible return of a beloved limited-time event. Could there be a Warzone 2 Season 6 right before the Modern Warfare 3 Beta launches?
Here's everything we know about Warzone 2 Season 6.
Will There be a Warzone 2 Season 6?
Yes, there will be a Warzone 2 Season 6. The season will likely be the last one before the release of Modern Warfare 3. Although it is unclear as of now when Warzone 2's overhaul will come in connection to Modern Warfare 3, we do know Season 6 will be the last major update tied to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Warzone 2 Season 6 has two rumored start dates. The in-game Battle Pass timer suggests the next Warzone 2 season drops on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023. That would mean Warzone 2 Season 5 Reloaded would be live for just under a month.
However, a leak reported by CharlieIntel claims that Warzone 2 Season 6 starts on Sept. 21, 2023. The Xbox Dashboard stated that Warzone 2 Season 5 ends on Sept. 20, 2023.
LEAK: The Haunting Returns in Warzone 2 Season 6
Although there are a lot of unknowns about Warzone 2 Season 6, a leak claims that the The Haunting will make its return in the next Warzone 2 season. The limited-time event was a fan-favorite back on Verdansk in the original Warzone and could be a massive success on Al Mazrah or Vondel.
Data miner, CODWarfareForum, revealed that The Haunting will return and once again feature Ghosts, not Zombies. Based on the past events, The Haunting will include free rewards for players to earn as they complete spooky challenges on a nighttime Al Mazrah or Vondel.
Activision has yet to confirm the leak, but we expect more information as Halloween draws closer.
