World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Release Date Revealed for November
By Nathan Fusco
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight's release date is set for Nov. 28. After months of speculation and rumors, Blizzard has finally revealed the date for the next expansion in World of Warcraft.
After the official announcement of Dragonflight earlier this year, the community was shocked to read a specific note in the fine print.
"World of Warcraft®: Dragonflight will be available on or before Dec. 31, 2022." While this is standard practice for games with no official release date, Blizzard would have chosen 2023 as the release year, giving them the freedom to choose a date sometime next year.
Players couldn't fathom a 2022 release with how late the announcement was made, the poor quality of Shadowlands, and Blizzard working from home.
But then the Alpha rolled out and then the Beta was soon to follow giving some players hope that the 2022 date was true. Turns out their hopes were well placed.
"On November 28, Dragonflight will release with eight dungeons—four level-up dungeons, which can be taken on with friends as you work toward the new level cap of 70— and four maximum-level dungeons."
But as many players know, the real end-game experience doesn't launch until the season starts. That's when the raid opens up and the mythic and arena seasons begin.
"Dragonflight Season 1 goes live starting the week of December 12, bringing a new raid—Vault of the Incarnates— an updated rotation of challenging Mythic+ dungeons and a new PvP Season. Mark your calendars for the road ahead, and get ready to take on all new challenges."
If you're interested in getting prepared for the Dragonflight launch, the Winds of Wisdom experience buff will be returning, giving players an easier time leveling their alts.
