WoW Shadowlands Mythic Level Item Level Explained
By Nathan Fusco
WoW Shadowlands Mythic level item level is quite different from BFA, but for good reason. Battle for Azeroth had a lot of RNG driving players crazy. The biggest loot for players running Mythic+ would reward players based on their Mythic+ level. It would be generated by the loot pool from every dungeon, making it a rather large pool. Players could be screwed over by a pair of pants three weeks in a row or a gear spot they already had.
It wasn't pleasant and Blizzard has listened to the community. While the loot has gone down in item level, it's because loot is harder to come by, but more impactful, meaning Blizzard doesn't want players to gear out in the matter of weeks.
WoW Shadowlands Mythic Level Item Level Explained
Icy Veins has the perfect graph to explain everything to you. As of now. basic Mythic dungeons drop 184 gear. Going to level nags you one piece of 187gear at the end of the run, and your weekly chest will reward you with 200.
Compared to raiding, Castle Nathria will drop Item Level 187 gear for Raid Finder difficulty, Item Level 200 gear for Normal difficulty, Item Level 213 gear for Heroic difficulty, and Item Level 226 gear for Mythic Difficulty.
To earn gear equivalent of Heroic raiding, you'll need to run Mythic+ 7 or better. And it's only for the weekly chest. The end-of-dungeon loot caps at 210. This is the biggest change for Mythic+ players as you'll have to wait until your weekly chest to get a great piece of loot.
